The SAE chapter at BYU continuously supports two competition teams each year, Supermileage and Baja. The students also support the College of Engineering week in February and have attended the Auto show in January. This past year, our Supermileage team placed 1st in Competition and our Baja team placed 4th in their sales pitch.
Last May, we had Dean Case, Engineer at Mazda, Honda, Nissan & Ford, come and give a guest lecture on the Automotive Industry and how to best market yourself as an engineer. In the future, we will be hosting more guest lectures like this one from other lead engineers from top companies in the automotive industry.
Last year, we hosted a webinar with some guest speakers from Ford Motor Co. that gave us an inside scoop on the Autonomous Vehicle Development that they'd been working on since their graduation from BYU.
Most recently, we held a cars n' donuts meet and took a group of students to SEMA in Las Vegas and met with automotive engineers to network and make connections.
