How Do I Get Involved
If you would like to get involved on the BYU Baja Racing Team, please complete this form
Student involvement typically occurs as:
Capstone
- Students who are in the College of Engineering can apply to be on the Baja team in fulfillment of their senior capstone design course
MET 490R Mentored Project
- The option of receiving technical elective credit for Baja involvement was added as a way for underclassmen to be more invested in the team and accountable for larger projects
- Underclassmen willing to dedicate 5-10 hours per week to a project on the team are graded on their work for 1.5 credits per semester
- These students are most likely to continue on to leadership roles on the team during their capstone year. They also gain early experience that helps lead to internships in industry (Ford, Toyota, Tesla, Polaris, etc.)
Volunteering
- The Baja team has also received significant help from volunteers over the years. For those who may not have as much time as a 490R student, volunteering alongside other team members is the best way to stay involved.
The BYU Baja team meets in the Motorsports Lab (MSL, 124 EB) each week during capstone hours (8-10a)
